These regions have unique environmental conditions, such as soil, climate, and altitude, which can significantly influence the flavor profile of the coffee grown there.

We've made Specialty-Grade Coffee easy to access through our trusted roasting partners who meticulously roast in small batches every shipping day to ensure our coffee moves quickly from roaster to doorstep!!  In fact, in many cases your coffee is roasted, packed & shipped all in the same day -- but always with great care and quality in mind.

Specialty-Grade Coffee

Our coffee beans meet the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Standards.  Specialty Coffee is the highest grade of coffee, scoring 80+ points on the 100-point Specialty Coffee Association Scale. The SCA Quality Score takes into account a variety of factors that can affect the quality of coffee, including aroma, flavor, acidity, body, balance, sweetness, uniformity, cleanliness and aftertaste. Coffees that score 80 or above are generally considered to be of Specialty Grade, indicating that they possess unique and desirable characteristics that set them apart from average mass-marketed or commercial-grade coffee.

*"Only about 20% of global coffee production meets the strict quality standards set by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). Specialty coffee is defined by the SCA as a coffee or coffee experience that is recognized for its distinctive attributes, resulting in a higher value within the marketplace."

The Journey ~ How IT All Began

In 2012 while visiting Costa Rica, attending a "Personal Development" Seminar, I experienced the most exquisite cup of coffee of my life!  It wasn't just the coffee, it was the entire experience of the coffee culture ~ from Farm to Cup,   And, so the journey began -- I was inspired to find the GREATEST 'Specialty-Grade' Coffees available from all around the World, and to one day in the future, launch an extraordinary coffee business.  After much research, due-diligence & sips of specialty coffee, that day has arrived & I am so thrilled & excited to share it with YOU!!

What's in the name?  Inspired by smiling faces of all cultures around the World, 'Java Tea or Me' always brings smiles when we say it!  The 'Me' is actually  referencing 'You' :)  We hope that when you pick up a bag of our extraordinary coffee and ask your friends, family, spouse, significant other, co-workers, etc., if they would like 'Java Tea or Me', that you all engage & share a warm smile with one another... and know, WE are sharing one with you as well.  Coffee Brings People, Cultures & The World Together!!
